Brian McFadden will be joining Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart on their Australian tour in November/December.

McManus Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Brian McFadden will be joining the legendary Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart as a special guest for the 2011 Australian tour. McFadden will join the bill for the entire tour, playing shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Wollongong and Canberra.  Celebrated musician and songwriter Dave Stewart from Eurythmics will also be touring Australia for this very special show; tickets are on sale now for all Australian shows.
Brian McFadden has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.  The tour coincides with the release of Brian McFadden’s new album in October before heading out on the road with Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart throughout November and December.
McFadden states, “I am looking forward to getting back out and touring because the stage is where I feel most comfortable.”
Fans of both Fleetwood Mac and Eurythmics will be thrilled to know that Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart will be performing their greatest hits from their respective bands as well as highlights from their solo careers.

Apart from Stevie’s incredible work with Fleetwood Mac, she has also had an extensive solo career, collectively having more than 40 Top 50 hits and selling more than 140 million albums worldwide. Just a few of her many solo hits include Edge of Seventeen, Leather and Lace, Stand Back, Bella Donna, Rooms On Fire and Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around. Stevie will also be playing songs from Fleetwood Mac’s extensive back catalogue. Some of their most loved songs include Rhiannon, Gypsy, Sara, Landslide, Dreams and Seven Wonders.
Stevie recently celebrated her 63rd birthday at a once-in-a-lifetime special event in Los Angeles. Here Stevie also celebrated the release of her first solo album in more than a decade, In Your Dreams, which was the week's highest-charting new album when it was released in Australia. The first single from the album, Secret Love, was originally written for the Rumours album.

Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 Grammy Award winning Album of the Year, Rumours, stands as one of the greatest albums ever made. It has sold more than one million copies in Australia. The songs have stood the test of time and Rumours recently had a revival when it was introduced to a whole new generation of fans, thanks to a recent episode of Glee dedicated to this classic album. Following the episode, Rumours returned to the Australian charts at number two.
As well as Brian McFadden, Grammy and BRIT Award winning musician, songwriter and producer, Dave Stewart will also join Stevie Nicks on this Australian tour. Dave is best known for his work with Eurythmics and recently co-produced and co-wrote many of the songs on Stevie’s latest album, In Your Dreams. Dave Stewart’s music career spans three decades and more than 100 million album sales. Some of Dave’s biggest hits include I Only Want To Be With You (The Tourists) and Eurythmics hits Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), Missionary Man, Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, Would I Lie To You? and Thorn In My Side.

The future of soccer shines at Abbotsford despite rain, by Eva Rinaldi - 27th March 2011

Joseph Rinaldi

It was soccer mums heaven (or hell) depending upon what side of the score your kid's team was sitting on.

Today was the return of the pro active soccer season at Abbotford Park in Sydney's inner west.

First up it was the young ladies with the Abbotsford Girls (division 2) VS the Canterbury Girls (division 1). The game was a thrashing with Canterbury beating Abbotsford 17 - Nil. Yes, you read correctly - sorry local readers. Sometimes at junior soccer level the teams are not evenly matched, and to say that's what happened here is an understatement. Somehow Abbotsford Girls players, mums and dads could still crack a smile.

Then it was the boys which I was really excited about.  My son Joseph is one of the star players and today he also got to break in his new soccer boots.

The day at first looked liked the rain had cleared up.  I had my camera on me and I sensed it was going to be a memorable day. Next thing the rain stared to team down, and then almost simultaneously the game kicked off.

It was the Abbotsford Wolves VS Abbotsford the later being two years more senior.

For the majority of the first half the visitors were besting the Wolves, but what us soccer parents had noticed in the our home boys was that they were not willing to sit down and drown. No, they were swimming, not drowning, even if most of the game was in the Wolves half. Then disaster struck. Abbotsford scored and then again 10 minutes later, another, and it was 2 - Nil.

I don't know what coach Keith Walker told my son's team at half time, but it can't have been too bad.

Both teams ran back onto the paddock like champions and some top notch soccer began to play out. It reminded me of some of the better games of the FIFA World Cup finals. Just saying. The skill demonstrated by both teams far exceeded the age in years.

Fifteen minutes into the second half at Ricky Morsello from the Wolves scored, some great lead up work from Harry Pown, Thomas Louie and Joseph Rinaldi.

Another 10 minutes elapsed, with both teams getting about the same about of time in each others half, and then Thomas went for a long shot 40 meter kick aimed at the oppositions goal. It missed by only a meter, but may have attracted the biggest applause and shout outs by soccer moms and dads.

Five minutes later and Morsello scored again. What we didn't all realise at the time is that this evened the game to 2 - All.  A remarkable effort by the Wolves who were dwarfed in size, age and experience.

When the final whilst blew you could have sworn The Wolves has won, and mums and dads elated, but both teams enjoyed a solid applause, as well they might, having demonstrated great skill, especially considering it was the start of the season, and all looking like drenched rats.

Today the game of soccer was the winner, and was anyone who turned up to witness this neighbourhood friendly war. Thank you to everyone who was part of today's soccer fever at Abbotsford. It will always be a special day to remember for my family and I, and I hope we get to enjoy more soccer games of this calibre. Everyone who was part of it - give yourselves an applause - we were all winners.

BANGARRA DANCE THEATRE'S "BELONG"

Rekindling Indigenous culture, internationally acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre has created an original and breathtaking theatrical experience - Belong.

Belong features two new dance theatre works: ID by Artistic Director Stephen Page, and About by Elma Kris, choreographer and dancer with Bangarra.

Stephen Page investigates what it means to be Aboriginal in the 21st century, asking important questions of identity. Based on personal observations of people tracing their bloodlines and re-connecting with traditional culture, ID provokes perceptions in contemporary society.

Torres Strait Islander Elma Kris is inspired by customs passed down through families for generations. Reflecting the strong links between communities and their natural environment, About explores the mood of the winds as they move across land, sea and sky signifying key moments in time.

At the heart of Bangarra Dance Theatre are challenging social and political questions. As Indigenous people, who are we and where do we belong?

Bangarra creates a truly Australian theatrical experience that connects the spirit of traditional culture with our contemporary lives. Always uplifting and deeply moving, Belongtransforms perceptions of the places we call home.
